In August 2000 "A.P. Møller and Wife Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller's Foundation for Common Objects" announced its donation of a new opera house for Denmark. After the accept of the government and the Parliament the opera project was presented to the public October 16. 2001, and the building activity was shortly after initiated at Holmen in Copenhagen. The total area of the Opera is 41,000 square metres spread out on 14 storeys, of which the five storeys are subterranean. Only 7,000 sqm. of the total number are occupied by foyer and audience area. The opera house has more than 1,000 rooms among these several practice rooms for both opera og ballet plus a large practice room for the orchestra. The main stage of the opera holds an audience of 1,400, and "Takkelloftet", the experimental stage holds an audience of about 200. |

October 1st, 2004 the Opera was handed over to the Danish Crown, and the Royal Theatre is now responsible for the operation of the Opera. Before then Informationsteknik has taken care that all audio and video signals are distributed through the right channels. Informationsteknik has delivered the complete cabling of the audio amplifier, audio distribution, Intercom and wire loop systems and the signal desks. Furthermore we have delivered and installed in the one end of the cable more than 30 racks, which are placed in the central control room, and in the other end of the cable more than 400 boxes with sockets for the different signals - placed all around the big house.
Informationsteknik has been in charge of the entire projecting and has together with our subcontractors passed more than 200 km cables for the audio system, designed signal desks in close cooperation with the theatre engineers and secured the final configuration of the intercom system to fulfill the demands and wishes of the theatre.
