5 x 7 50-inch Clarity rear projection cubes are mounted on the end wall of the trade floor in Jyske Bank's head quarters in Silkeborg. On the display they can watch Danish and international news, data from Reuters and stock market prices from the entire world. During the morning meetings everybody can see the power point presentation without any problems - no matter where they are located in the room. The entire screens has a resolution of more than 27 mill. pixels.
In total you can watch 32 different images on the wall, but at the moment the controller - a Jupiter Fusion 980 - is only configured to receive eight VGA sources and four analog video feeds. A 23-foot ticker spans the bottom of the dispaly showing real-time stock market prices. Everything is controlled by an AMX NetLinx touch panel including predefined windows layouts. |

Day and night the video wall gives the bankers access to news, stock market prices, and other financial data.

The trading floor is vigilant 24 hours a day from Sunday evening to Friday night. That made the installation of the videowall challenging. The installation was completed in less than five days. The technicians worked late into the nights and had to be very careful about the noise they made in order not to disturb the traders. The cubes are mounted in a steel structure, so that all service can be done from the outside - e.g. when replacing the lamps.
The display har been a big investment for the bank, but the project is much more than just money. Very often the head of Jyske Bank, Anders Dam is interviewed to local and international media - and the videowall is the backdrop for many of these on-site interviews. |
